Banana Fritters (Serves 6 - 8)

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet Asian Home Gourmet Tempura Batter Mix
  • 9 large bananas, peeled and cut into halves
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 220ml (1 cup) water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Oil for deep-frying
  • 1 - 2 tbsp cinnamon powder (optional)

Method:

  1. Put tempura mix into a large bowl.  Add water, egg yolk, oil and cinnamon powder; stir well to obtain a smooth batter.
  2. Pre-heat oil in a saucepan on medium heat.  Coat banana with batter and deep-fry until golden brown.
  3. Serve with ice cream of your choice.
